Kimya Mühendisliği Araştırma Görevlisi Kimya Yük. Müh. Osman Eksik, 10-12 Nisan 2008 Tarihlerinde İstanbul'da düzenlenen ve çeşitli ülkelerden katılımcıların yer aldığı "PAINT 2008 7th International Paint & Auxiliary Products Industry Congress Paint & Auxiliary Products Industry Exhibitions"da yaptığı sözel sunumla, üniversitemizi başarıyla temsil etmiş ve birincilik elde etmiştir.

"Study in Europe" website
Dear Erasmus Mundus students and scholars,
We are pleased to inform you that the Study in Europe website is now online at www.study-in-europe.org. This website has been developed under the Erasmus Mundus Global Promotion Project, as a way of improving the availability and accessibility of information on studying in Europe for international students. We hope that it will also serve to enhance the visibility of Erasmus Mundus among students, higher education institutions, authorities and employers worldwide. An article about the new site appears on the home page of the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association at www.em-a.eu.
We would appreciate any help that you can give us in spreading the word about the Study in Europe website, to friends, colleagues, fellow students, your host universities in Europe as well as your university in your home country. At the bottom of the right-hand menu on the Home Page, there is a link called "Media downloads". This contains a selection of banners that can be put on other sites to link them to Study in Europe.
For now, the site is only available in English. Versions in Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish will become available over the next few months. Further materials (brochure, flyer, poster, DVD, giveaways - in all 7 languages) will be available in the autumn.

Post-Doc Researcher for a five years period: StreamEcology
The IMAR – Coimbra Interdisciplinary Centre (IMAR-CIC) wants to hire, for a five years period, a Post-Doc Researcher with previous experience in Stream Ecology, particularly in environmental quality assessment.
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge in the ecology of aquatic invertebrates, modelling life-history of invertebrates or trophic interactions with organic matter.
Anthropogenic activities in river basins are causing considerable changes in the physical and chemical stream environments, affecting the biodiversity, patterns of energy flow, the structure of invertebrate communities, and life-history of key aquatic species. It is therefore important to understand the directions of such changes from two viewpoints. Firstly, from the management perspective, by being able to detect the changes in aquatic communities as a consequence of human alterations, and be able to use this information to assess environmental quality and support environmental agencies. Secondly, from the biological perspective, by understanding the ecology of aquatic invertebrates, particularly their traits (e.g. reproduction, feeding ecology, behavioural ecology) in order to predict how changes in the environment will affect the aquatic biota and their services.

Post-Doc Researcher with previous experience in hydraulics and water resources
The Aragon I+D Fundation offers a permanent research position for a Post-Doc Researcher with previous experience in hydraulics and water resources, namely expertise in one or more of the following topics: 1. Numerical modelling (good knowledge of programming language). 2. Hydraulics. 3. Hydrology. 4. Advanced experimental techniques in fluid dynamics. A postdoctoral experience, of more than 6 years with a minimum stay of two years in a prestigious research center will be required. The participation in research projects and publications in international journals will be basic requirements. This Post Doc researcher will be incorporated to a Fluid Mechanics research group within the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and in charge of tasks foreseen in ongoing projects. However, this Post-Doc Researcher is also expected to have the skills to apply for new research projects, both national and international, coordinated by him/her self, contributing to strengthen a favorable research environment. It is expected from the new Post-Doc researcher the availability to supervise or co-supervise the work of younger researchers and PhD students in his/her area of expertise. Although the regular involvement in academic activities is not foreseen, there will be invitations for lecturing on topics related to his/her expertise in the scope of intensive advanced courses (MSc and PhD levels). This specialised collaboration will allow the Post-Doc Researcher to acquire a useful and positive experience, being considered most welcome.
